Privacy Policy

Lantern Arcana Tarot is built so your practice stays yours. This page describes what we collect, what we do with it, and what we will never do.

What we collect

To run your account and your readings, we store a small set of information tied to your user identity:

• Your email address, used for account sign in and customer support
• A user ID generated for you, used to link your readings to your account
• Your readings, intentions, and any custom card photos you choose to keep

Scan photos. If you use the "Scan Your Spread" feature, the photo is sent to our server for card identification and is not retained after processing.

Camera and AR. The AR Card Draw feature uses your device's camera to detect surfaces and place virtual cards. The camera feed is processed entirely on your device using Apple's ARKit framework. No images, video, or spatial data from AR sessions are recorded, stored, or transmitted.

We also collect anonymous performance and crash data for debugging, and basic usage analytics to understand which features are being used. None of this is linked to your identity.

What we do not collect

This is the more important list:

• We do not collect location, browsing history, contacts, search history, sensitive personal information, financial information, or health data.
• We do not track you for advertising. Lantern Arcana Tarot does not show ads and does not share data with advertisers.
• Card photos for custom decks stay on your device. Photos you take to build a personal deck are stored locally on your phone or tablet and are not uploaded to our servers.

Third party services

A few services help the app work. Here is what each one sees:

• Apple StoreKit handles in app purchases and subscriptions. Apple sees the purchase, we receive a verification token, and we store the resulting credit balance against your user ID.
• Anthropic generates the language for each reading. We send the cards drawn and your intention text. We do not send your account email or user ID.
• OpenAI generates the voice narration on demand. We send the reading text. We do not send your identity.
• Supabase hosts our authentication and database, with your data encrypted in transit and at rest.

If a third party's policy ever changes in a way that breaks our promises here, we will revise this page and notify you in app.

Data storage and security

Account data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure. Your journal entries and reading history are stored on your device and synced via Apple's iCloud service, governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Card photos you capture are stored locally on your device only and are not backed up by Lantern Arcana Tarot. They may be lost if you delete the app or reset your device.

Your controls

You can do any of these at any time:

• Edit your email preferences using the "Manage email preferences" link in the footer of any email we send (the link is unique to your account, no sign in required)
• Delete a reading from your journal
• Delete your custom decks from the device
• Delete your account, which removes all associated readings and data, by emailing support@lanternarcana.com

Children's privacy

Lantern Arcana Tarot is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other means. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
